<aside> ⚠️ NEVER delete/remove/unshare any shared files/folders from Google Drive.

<aside> 💡 Don't move anything out of a folder that others at NIST may need after you leave

<aside> 💡 Be sure that all institutional documents are in the shared department folders.

Start by organizing your Google Drive.
If you haven't already, try to separate files that are personal only, from shared files that may still be relevant to NIST and your colleagues.
<aside> 💡 Personal files tend to be documents in your Google Drive that you have created but have not shared with anyone. They could be health records, receipts, ID scans, travel documents, resumes, etc).
</aside>
Any personal documents you have can be backed up and/or deleted. More information about how to backup your Google Drive is located in step 3.
Leave all other files in your Google Drive. Do NOT delete.
All files remaining in your Google Drive that you own will have ownership transferred to a NIST archive account ([email protected]) after you leave to ensure that the files are always accessible.
